As Founder of this fantastic App, what was your motivation to create such an App?
YK: “In my life I’ve been lucky enough to have traveled a fair bit and I’ll tell you the best thing about it is meeting all these special people and creating memorable moments together. I want more of that, and not just when you’re traveling. So when I got back I started playing with the idea of bringing those moments to everyday life. With a few detours I found my solution in a daily activity that’s been used for pausing and just enjoying the moment and the company your with for thousands of years: dinner.”
Why should AppUsers download this App?
YK: “Could be for a whole variety of reasons: maybe they want to save time and money on a daily activity. Or maybe they are looking for a casual way to spend more time with friends or even make new ones, while adhering to a busy schedule.”
What are the advantages compared to other similar App’s?
YK: “The users on the platform! Nibblr focuses on everyday dining experiences within local communities and that ensures that wherever we are active there’ll always be a convenient and exciting dining experience right around the corner.”
Can you tell something about the process, challenges, hurdles and time spent from the moment you start (The Idea) till the moment you launched the App at the
AppStore / GooglePlay?
YK: “I think the most challenging stuff for all of us was to get the whole team on the same page and to realize that we were building something here that could truly be something great and that we had to start acting like it. Getting everybody to start working at their best individually and as a team was very challenging but as we improved things rapidly started to take off.”
Once you launched the App in the Appstore / GooglePlay, what did you do to promote this App to your target audience (user group)? Do you think Applepies (as worldwide rating and reviewing Online AppEcosystem) can have a certain role in this?
YK: “Our App derives its value from the amount of content we are able to provide locally so we need to pay special attention to building local communities. For that reason we have created a loyal following of lead users who love the concept and started building on top of that with e-marketing, referral marketing and several fun guerilla events in the targeted cities. Now we’re working on partnerships with organisations who want the same thing we do and that can help us get the message across to their members. We’re hoping Applepies might help us get the attention of individuals with the right ideas/connections to help us make the next step forward.”
You as a visionairy person, what is your view on the new technologies of the digital smartphone (App) world. Do you think that within 1 to 5 years App’s will be indispensable?
YK: “Well, my prediction is that in 5 years App’s will still exist but the way we interact with them will have largely changed. I see a lot of potential in the uprise of chatbots and voice command. For example, right now people open Nibblr and manually browse the selection of dinners. In the future, they’ll tell their smart watch they’d like to have dinner somewhere later that day and Nibblr will direct them to a dinner nearby based on their preferences and historic use when the time comes.”
Are you currently (still) looking for investments or funds to finalise or optimize your App?
YK: “We are indeed. The App is ready for market entry but we’ve already received a lot of feedback from the community on how to improve it and we’ve still got some great ideas that we want to implement ourselves over the next year and that will require some more funds sooner or later.”
Are you familiar with the definition Monetization (how to earn money with your App)? Are you open for ad companies sending advertisements through your App?
YK: “We are exploring some interesting partnerships with companies that offer goods and services that could be of interest to our users as well but that’s far as that’ll go. We’re only considering the highest relevant content to our users such as branded recipes or an integrated online grocery feature.”
Wat is the business model of the App (how does the App earns money?) Think of advertisements, premium subscriptions in the App etc?
YK: “The lion’s share of the App’s income will be derived from the branded content as mentioned above. However, because eating together is estimated to be 40% cheaper than eating alone, it is also possible to capture some of this value created through a small service fee on each transaction, if necessary.
Last but not least is there anything you want to recommend other App Founders/Creators?
YK: “Don’t let feature creep ruin your day.”
