With the SloQ App you will find all the bars and clubs near by where you are located. In addition you see where you can have reduction on your drinks or other interesting offers. On the other hand, this App is the ultimate solution for pub/club owners to attract people to join their drinking establishment during the quite moments of the day. This App is the perfect way to match bars and visitors with each other. In January 2019 the SloQ App has been launched for the first time in Den Bosch (The Netherlands). So be the first on who gets beers and cocktail for good prices and see which bars and clubs are around you.

As Founder of this fantastic App, what was your motivation to create such an App?
SR: “As a customer of drinking establishments I found it difficult to choose where I should grab a drink. So I wanted to make sure that customers would be triggerd to visit a lot of different drinking establishments in the area. I also wanted to make a platform which is entrepreneur friendly. Meaning that entrepreneurs don’t pay a fee for a platform but only give a discount to their customers.”

Why should Users download this App?
SR: “At this moment we are only active in Den Bosch (The Netherlands) but the dream is to go national. Users who wants to go and grab a drink should use SloQ to see if they can get a discount on their drinks. Like a discount of 50% for one whole hour. They pay less and they will be triggerd to visit different drinking establishments.”

What are the advantages compared to other similar Apps?
SR: “Consumers can get a discount on their drinks somewhere in the area and at that exact time. They only have to activate the deal and show their phone at the drinking establishment. For entrepreneurs it’s a platform to promote their establishment during quite hours. They are in charge of the percentage and time of every deal. Also important, they don’t have to pay a fee so it’s more likely they post more deals.

Can you tell something about the process, challenges, hurdles and time spent from the moment you start (The Idea) till the moment you launched the App at the AppStore / GooglePlay?
SR: “The idea started 1,5 years ago. We did a lot of work before we actually developed the SloQ App. First we had to make a good business plan, at the end we had over 40 different versions of this plan before we found it good enough to show it to other people and eventually got a loan. We also did a lot of research by interviewing entrepreneurs and students. We worked together with an App developer in the Netherlands. We found it important that there would be no problems with the language. The App developer also made sure that the process with the Appstore en Playstore went well. It took around 5 months from starting to develop the App and launching the App.”

Once you launched the App in the Appstore / GooglePlay, what did you do to promote this App to your target audience (user group)? Do you think Applepies (as worldwide rating and reviewing Online App Magazine) can have a certain role in this?
SR: “We just launched the App a week ago. And we will start this week to promote SloQ. With social media and a good presskit we hope people wil download SloQ. We only have to focuss on one city during this try-out. It is nice to share our story with a reviewing online App magazine. We hope Applepies will help us to reach our User group.”

You as a visionary person, what is your view on the new technologies of the digital smartphone (App) world. Do you think that within 1 to 5 years Apps will be indispensable?
SR: “I really believe the digital smartphone will get a bigger role in our lives. At this moment people already use their phone and Apps for a lot of stuff. It will only get more and more and a certain way of live.”

Are you currently (still) looking for investments or funds to finalise or optimize your App?
SR: “Yes we are!!!. If our try-out will be a succes we want to go national and we will need investors for marketing and expanding our App.”

Wat is the business model of the App (how does the App earns money?) Think of advertisements, premium subscriptions in the App etc?
SR: “An entrepreneur gives a discount, for example 50% off on beer, wine and soda for 60 minutes. An App user can activate the deal for €1,50. After activating the App user and his company/friends can all get a discount on their drinks voor the period of 60 minutes. Depending on the type of action the App user pays between €0,75 and €1,50 to activate a deal.”

Last but not least is there anything you want to recommend other App creators/founders?
SR: ”I would strongly recommend to look for a good App developer. Someone you can talk to or even better someone you can sit at the same table with. Because it’s not only building an App. It is also looking for the most userfriendly version. So you really have to brainstorm with an App developer. Also launching the App in the Appstore and Playstore is something you can really get help with. And an App needs a good marketingplan to be succesfull, also something a good App developer can help you with.”

Hoe de SloQ app werkt:
Je ziet een overzicht van drinkgelegenheden in de buurt én je ziet de aangeboden kortingsacties
Horecaondernemers plaatsen kortingsacties op het drinken zoals bijvoorbeeld 60 minuten lang 50% korting op het drinken
Wanneer je korting op je drinken wilt activeer je de kortingsactie tegen een kleine vergoeding variërend tussen de €0,75 en €1,50. Dit heb je er vaak bij het eerste rondje al uit
Zodra de kortingsactie is geactiveerd zie je een groen scherm met een teller, jouw korting is geldig zolang de teller loopt
Voordat je jouw drinken besteld laat je jouw telefoon met het groene scherm en de lopende teller zien
De korting op het drinken is tijdens de looptijd geldig op jouw bestelling voor zowel jezelf als jouw gezelschap.
