Q&A by Aliona Sladzinskaya (AS)

As Founder of this fantastic App, what was your motivation to create such an App?
AS:
“Coming from the events industry we feel the pain people face when they try to put an event together. No matter what you are to plan  – a birthday party, housewarming, kids party or an office celebration  – you face an endless list of tasks to complete and a bundle of various tools to use. Plus, hours of web brosing and emailing vendors. We simply wanted to come up with ONE solution which would have it all.”

Why should App Users download this App?
AS: “PartyMaker App is a one-stop solution for event planning which makes the whole planning process super easy, fun and secure.

If you want to plan an epic event, we have it all:

  • Digital event page and invitations
  • Live guest list with integrated group and secret chats
  • An intuitive task manager to boost your planning productivity and collaborate with your co-hosts and guests
  • Private cloud photo albums for each event where you can instantly capture event’s moments, like, comment and share.

We are currently also putting together a marketplace where our verified vendors will be able to offer all you may need for an event – from balloons and cakes to sophisticated décor solutions and entertainment. “

What are the advantages compared to other similar App’s?
AS: “It’s all about our users, we want them to feel it’s an App especially created for them and with them. We put a lot of thought into the design and simplification of the functionality, taking the main inspiration from the feedback we receive. Now building the marketplace and working with event suppliers, we meticulously verify each of them using our professional expertise  – users’ security and trust will always be our top priority.”

Can you tell something about the process, challenges, hurdles and time spent from the moment you start (The Idea) till the moment you launched the App at the AppStore / GooglePlay?
AS: “The main challenge for us was to decide when to launch on the App store and just like many other startups we launched too late. Now looking back, we realize that the users don’t really need to have a perfect product from the day one. They are happy to forgive you for minor design bugs and a limited range of features, as long as the product does its main thing. What they actually want is to build it with you, providing feedback, loving or hating certain features or functionality. When you want to make it perfect, you end up overspending your time, efforts and money on features you users may not even need  that much or even worse  – they may want them completely out. So our lesson number one was “don’t spend ages polishing your product, launch as early as you can to polish it with your users.”

Once you launched the App in the Appstore / GooglePlay, what did you do to promote this App to your target audience (user group)? Do you think Applepies (as worldwide rating and reviewing Online App Magazine) can have a certain role in this?
AS: “Our main promotion is an App itself – we have an “invite your guests” feature which encourages a host to invite all the event’s guests via the App. Thus, with one event we can get exposure to 20-30 people or more, depending on its scale.

As a part of our digital strategy, we are establishing long-time partnerships with influencers and bloggers, building our Facebook and Instagram community inspiring our existing and potential users with event tips and ideas.

To get consumer credibility and worldwide exposure you definitely need to become a part of well established online communities and it looks like Applepies is a great platform for that. So we look forward to our cooperation.”

You as a visionairy person, what is your view on the new technologies of the digital smartphone (App) world. Do you think that within 1 to 5 years App’s will be indispensable?
AS:
“The modern world has so much to offer and you cannot blame people for trying to be more efficient and spend less time on boring things like payments, bookings, ticketing… The Apps are meant to make your like easier and who doesn’t like “easier” solutions. So definitely, the future is all about Apps and digital marketplaces;)”

Are you currently (still) looking for investments or funds to finalise or optimize your App?
AS: “Yes,we are. As we’ve mentioned above we are currently working on our marketplace feature which requires a significant amount of additional development. Hence we are looking for investors to join us in our exciting journey.“

Are you familiar with the definition Monetization (how to earn money with your App)? Are you open for ad companies sending advertisements through your App? What is the business model of the App (how does the App earns money?) Think of advertisements, premium subscriptions in the App etc?
AS: “We monetize via in-app purchases and subscription. At the moment we do not see advertisements as something we would implement in our product.”

Last but not least is there anything you want to recommend other App Founders/Creators?
AS: “Your product is a reflection of you and your team, so make sure you always show your best and surround yourself with best people.”
