Zynapp then allows you to find what you are looking for, using text, on a Map, in a Timeline, by ai-generated topics, and the people in your life. By combining places, timespans, people and topics, you can use Zynapp to find stuff the way you think. Zynapp is free to use for the image and music digital footprint categories. The free version includes 6 GB smart storage. The App offers Zynapp Premium which is an in-app purchase for:

– extended digital footprint categories such as contacts, calendars, emails and documents.

– a 1000 GB smart storage, fully encrypted

As Founder of this fantastic App, what was your motivation to create such an App?
JF: “To put the user back in the driver’s seat again, with power over their digital assets.”

Why should Users download this App?
JF: “To be able to collect digital footprints from your favorite Apps and services, into your own private vault. And then find your content like you normally think by using the world’s first visual search engine for your own data — and if you like, share it in a very controlled way.”

What are the advantages compared to other similar Apps?
JF: “There are no similar Apps.”

Can you tell something about the process, challenges, hurdles and time spent from the moment you start (The Idea) till the moment you launched the App at the AppStore / GooglePlay?
JF: “Developing and marketing an App, and building a start-up company, is different in almost every aspect compared to classic product development and daily office life in a big corp. I like it a lot, you feel very alive at work and the questions on the table are both challenging and inspiring, especially how small things become strategic and vice versa.”

Once you launched the App in the Appstore / GooglePlay, what did you do to promote this App to your target audience (User group)? Do you think Applepies (as worldwide rating and reviewing Online App Magazine) can have a certain role in this?
JF: “We are purely data driven in our customer acquisition, so we use a mixture of SEM, partners, PR and digital advertising in order to reach our target audience. Regarding your question what Applepies can bring us? I honestly don’t know, let’s see what it can bring us”

You as a visionary person, what is your view on the new technologies of the digital smartphone (App) world. Do you think that within 1 to 5 years Apps will be indispensable?
JF: “We started with a passionate focus on giving our forthcoming users a real value from their data, and in the process really discovered how obscene the personal data trade has become — and the business models from the so called ”internet-age” actually was.

We realized that putting the user in the driver’s seat, in terms of getting in control and facilitating the way you can find and organize your digital assets really, also has to comprise a fundamental principle for privacy and security.

It’s not until you have collected all your stuff in your own vault that you really can benefit from all the data points that you constantly create. The personal value from your data on a meta-level is today owned by the Apps and services you use in an external sense, it’s not owned by you, not available at your fingertips. And that could be fine in many cases but as a user you are missing out on the aggregation of your own data.

In today’s life, where such a large part of your life has become digital, that’s about the same thing as missing out in your real life. That’s why I believe the journey Zynapp has created is so relevant, it is really inspiring to be able to develop an App platform that places itself in the middle of many very strong and mega trends with a human-centric approach to technology.

I think we are already very dependent on Apps for a large part of the things we do on an ordinary day, but the human-to-digital interfaces will of course evolve, and what actually will be defined as an App five years from now is not clear. Today voice interfaces and conversational bots in UI have changed the UX landscape and this will grow significantly.

AI based services like ours will influence our lives more and more, and the human-2-human interaction will also be redefined as a consequence of that — a development with huge positive human potential that also has to be treated with the outmost caution.

On a personal level I devote as much free time as possible to experience and cherish the ”analogue” aspects of the world — while it’s still possible.”

Are you currently (still) looking for investments or funds to finalize or optimize your App?
JF: “Yes, we are well financed and are heading for our A-round.”

Wat is the business model of the App (how does the App earns money?) Think of advertisements, premium subscriptions in the App etc.?
JF: “Our offer is a freemium model.”

Last but not least is there anything you want to recommend other Creators/Founders?
JF: “Find others, companies or people, that share your vision and goals of a better world and use that energy to stay focused on what you believe in.”
